Author “The Art of Innovation” & “The Ten Faces of Innovation”
Tom Kelley is the general manager of IDEO, the widely admired design and development firm that brought us the Apple mouse, the Palm V, and hundreds of other cutting-edge products and services. He helped manage IDEO, often named among the world’s most innovative companies, as it grew from 20 designers to a staff of more than 500 and is widely admired as one of the most successful practitioners of managing innovation. He has authored two books on the subject—The Art of Innovation, in which he describes IDEO’s “deep dive” approach to successful product creation, focusing on brainstorming and teamwork as invaluable tools, and his The Ten Faces of Innovation, which reveals ten unique strategies for making sure that good ideas make it to market.
Kelley was named the first-ever Executive Fellow by the dean of the Haas Business School, University of California Berkeley, and received the 2009 Kellogg Award for Distinguished Leadership from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
